The Department of Management Studies at Vel's College of Science was started during the academic year 1998-1999. The Department is popularly known as VIBA (Vael's Institute of Business Administration). VIBA offers a two year Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA) approved by AICTE. It is one of the flagship and a high demand programmes of the Institution. The fourth semester is devoted fully to project work. Mission: The mission is to create, prove and conquer, and to develop students who will create, lead and transform the world. Goal: Our mission is to develop students who will create, lead and transform the world. The students of VIBA are exposed to the corporate world through various seminars, workshops, debates, guest lectures, Managerial games and Plant visits. This helps the student to develop the capacity for analysis and judgment, the ability to relate to managerial problems and draw upon his or her own resources for understanding and meaningful action. We strive to groom our students to join the industry not as a mere job earner, but to influence its practices, and in the long run to become an active participant in reshaping the nation's destiny.
